This season, our thoughts have shifted. We are reimagining our programme to respond to our context, on Palestine and beyond. Alserkal Art Week has always been a moment to respond, and this year it feels all the more necessary. It will be a week to ask questions, to hear stories, and for our community to gather.

Our highlight exhibition, On This Land, creates a space for informed contemplation of Gaza, opening on 19 November. The week unfolds under the concept of Fierce Grace, a term unearthed by our long-term collaborator and Protocinema founder, curator Mari Spirito. Fittingly, ‘fierce grace’ refers to new knowledge gained through hardship, a worldview that encourages a holistic sense of belonging.
