Taking Form

Continuing her exploration of textiles, the exhibition brings the medium into dialogue with her ongoing interest in light, colour and material. While embracing a turn toward softness and delicacy, the works build on Begum’s longstanding engagement with abstraction and Minimalism, exploring light through new forms. Drawing on Islamic geometry, squares and rectangles establish defined perimeters, while the configurations within them suggest patterns extending beyond their physical boundaries. The geometry is never truly contained.
