DUBAI, June 10, 2022 – Non-profit Alserkal Arts Foundation has announced it is now accepting applications for the second round of its Research Grants programme, which awards individuals and collectives amounts of $5,000 to $10,000 in funding for projects.
Up to three grants will be awarded in Autumn 2022.
Launched in 2019, the initiative is aimed at individuals and collectives working in the arts, humanities and social sciences who seek to pursue a research project within the contexts of South Asia, West Asia and Africa. Currently, the Foundation is seeking applications that demonstrate an interest in pursuing intersectional and experimental approaches to research, and that strive to blur the boundaries between conventional disciplines.
Potential grant awardees can include multidisciplinary visual and sonic artists, architects, writers, independent publishers, documentary filmmakers, educators, geographers, historians, economists and more.
Applicants must be above 21 years of age and have at least five years of experience in their respective fields. To apply, they must submit their CV, portfolio and research proposal to Alserkal Arts Foundation through an online application system. Submissions must be completed by 1 September 2022.
