Vestiges: Athar Jaber
Part of New Exhibitions
Vestiges is a solo exhibition featuring new sculptures from Athar Jaber, marking his largest body of work to date.
In this series, Athar reimagines the human form, creating figures that go beyond physical disfigurement to serve as symbolic representations of how individuals are torn apart by the weight of the world. It is an exploration of the fragile relationship between the human body and the forces that shape—and often break—it.
At the core of Vestiges is the human body, portrayed as broken, fragmented, and vulnerable. This rendering is intentional. The raw violence in Athar’s sculptures—shattered limbs, distorted faces, torsos suspended in tension—reveals a paradox: while sculpted to embody an ideal of beauty, their fractured state suggests that this very beauty is an illusion.
