Part of Interrupting Patterns
An interpretation of1001 Arabian Nights, this play follows a Sultan, whose heart, clouded by betrayal, compels him to wed a new maiden each day—only to execute her at dawn, fearing treachery. Yet, defying this grim fate, Princess Sheherazade, daughter of the wise Vazeer, steps forward with courage. As the Sultan’s bride, she spins tale after tale with her enchanting voice—stories of wonder and wisdom that hold the Sultan captive, keeping death at bay, night after night. An original script written and directed by the acclaimed Rasika Agashe.
