Firetti Contemporary
In collaboration with The Umbrella Institute, The Why Foundation and Co-Creating the Future, Firetti Contemporary screens “The Recycling Myth”, A documentary highlighting the global systemic challenges of plastic waste. It showcases how the entire system has holes that need to be closed for recycling to be a viable solution to the current waste situation.
“The Recycling Myth / Why Plastic” is a three-part documentary series that will bust the myths and misinformation, taking a closer look at what is fact and what is fiction. Each film focuses on a different aspect of plastic pollution: Recycling, Human Health and The Industry.
The Why believe that civic education is a critical step in addressing social issues and effecting change. Documentary film is a powerful tool, helping to convey important information and spread knowledge. WHY PLASTIC? will help to create a nuanced, factual debate around plastic pollution and the problems connected to it, such as the climate crisis, environmental justice and public health.
The film will be followed by a short Panel Discussion on the topic of recycling.
To view the film please RSVP as there is limited seating.
Screening of the film will be on Friday at 6pm on the 18th of March, 2022.
