1x1 Art Gallery is excited to present Of Thread, Fire, & Light, featuring three design interventions by Sina Dyks, HF Legacy, and IRDS Studio respectively.

An immersive exhibition of woven works by Sina Dyks, whose practice expands the boundaries of contemporary textile art. Blending tradition with experimentation, Dyks transforms recycled PET yarns, hand-dyed threads, and community-donated fibers into layered surfaces that evoke emotional resonance and deep sensory engagement.

At the heart of the exhibition is Liberty Unfettered Release, a monumental tapestry shaped by collective thread donations, evolving into a woven architecture of memory. Complementing this are Dyks’s Color Emotion Maps — wall-based compositions that explore how gradients, hues, and textures influence mood and perception.

Dyks’s visual language draws on hand-dyeing, Jacquard weaving, and spontaneous gesture, balancing algorithmic precision with organic flourish. Each work becomes a contemplative landscape, inviting viewers to pause and feel the quiet power of colour and form.

Sina Dyks is a Dutch textile artist known for her innovative use of recycled PET yarns and self-spun threads. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, she has exhibited internationally in Paris, Milan, and New York, with commissioned works in Gibraltar and Rome. Her practice bridges craft and emotion, offering immersive experiences rooted in sustainability, intuition, and innovation.

The HF Legacy collection redefines Italian craftsmanship — not as history preserved, but as heritage in motion. From hand-chiseled gemstones to mouth-blown crystal and intuitively cast bronze, the works in this exhibition embody the enduring vitality of Renaissance mastery while resonating with contemporary relevance.

Each object is singular, shaped not only by rare materials but also by the artisan’s touch, centuries-old tools, and irreproducible moments in time. No two stones, crystals, or bronzes are ever alike. What may appear to be an edition is, in truth, a collection of individuals — living artifacts that carry the genetic memory of Tuscan stone, Roman bronze, and Florentine fire. As master artisans approach the twilight of their careers, their works become more than exquisite objects: they are final signatures, closing chapters of centuries-old traditions.

HF Legacy offers a rare opportunity to encounter not only refined craftsmanship but also cultural legacies that embody rarity, mastery, and enduring value. HF Legacy is an extraordinary collective of 14 master artisans and visionary leaders — each representing the final generation of practitioners in disciplines that have defined Italian excellence for centuries. Together, they form not merely a team but a living bridge between Renaissance mastery and contemporary collecting.

IRDS Studio (Ingrid Račková & David Suchopárek) is a Czech duo whose practice explores the expressive potential of glass. Through a masterful interplay of geometry, color, and light, they create meditative spaces where material becomes language and illumination becomes presence.

Their signature pyramidal sculptures, built from layered optical glass, are feats of precision and clarity, transforming light into structured stillness. In contrast, their melted glass forms capture spontaneity and movement, articulating a dialogue between chaos and control. Equally striking are their glass paintings, which treat the medium as a painterly surface — layering transparency, engraving, and color into compositions that merge sculptural depth with emotional resonance.

Color is elemental in their work — not decorative but intrinsic — a force that defines space, evokes emotion, and animates each piece from within. The result is a practice that bridges technical mastery with poetic expression, offering audiences luminous encounters with stillness, balance, and meaning.
