Sina Dyks: Solo Exhibition
1x1 Art Gallery
1X1 Design is pleased to present an immersive exhibition of large-scale woven works by artist Sina Dyks, whose practice expands the boundaries of contemporary textile art. Through an innovative blend of tradition and experimentation, Dyks transforms hand-spun and recycled fibers into dynamic surfaces that evoke emotional resonance and deep sensory engagement.
Far from treating weaving as a conventional technique, Dyks embraces it as a form of alchemy, turning PET yarns, hand-dyed threads, and community-donated fibers into richly layered, visually arresting works. Influenced by expressive arts methodologies, her compositions emerge like spectral landscapes-—fluid terrains of color, texture, and motion that invite contemplation and introspection.
Dyks’s work reflects a dual commitment to preserving textile heritage while embracing cutting-edge processes. Her artistic language draws from hand-dyeing, heat-set Jacquard weaving, laser-cut looms, and spontaneous gesture- where algorithmic structure meets intuitive form. This dialogue between control and freedom infuses her textiles with a kinetic tension, constantly oscillating between repetition and organic flourish.
Throughout the exhibition, Dyks delves into themes of transformation, both personal and collective. Each woven expanse becomes a contemplative space, encouraging viewers to pause, breathe, and engage with the quiet power of color and form.
Her aim is not only to intrigue but to offer a deeply immersive experience that explores how visual and tactile elements affect our emotional well-being. The gallery becomes a sea of textured, vibrant wall hangings where each work is a vivid expression of movement, soul, and change. These are not passive pieces, but living environments that invite the viewer inward. This exhibition invites you not just to look, but to feel.
