We're taking some time this Ramadan to pay deeper attention to our entangled pasts and honour the memories of the people we come from. As part of our programme, Stay a little longer, we invite you to share a little bit of your family's history with us for a 9-day photography exhibition, a collaboration between Alserkal Avenue and Gulf Photo Plus. The exhibition is our attempt to give time and space to our varied, intricate histories that have led us here today.

To participate in the exhibition, submit a digital image or scan of a photograph of your parents or grandparents from a moment in the past, alongside a small caption a brief description of how the photo came to be, followed the town, the year, and the names of the people in the photograph.

In all of our unique and seemingly distant pasts, you’d be surprised to see how much we share in common.

The call is open to all. Submit your photo using the link here

The exhibition will take place from 23-31 March 2024 at The Yard.
