Through a reimagining and reinterpretation of found objects, footage, and sound, artist Essa Grayeb crafts a world that oscillates between reality and fiction.
With a particular interest in Pan-Arabism, his practice maps key moments within the modern history of the Middle East and their manifestations in Arab popular culture. In his upcoming talk, Essa takes us through the highlights of his ongoing research, featuring excerpts from his experimental videos - The Return of Osiris, My Whole Heart Is With You, and Suspended Dawn.

Essa Grayeb is a Palestinian visual artist based in Jerusalem, whose practice spans various audio-visual media, including video, photography, and installation. A fellow of the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program (2025–2026), Grayeb’s works have been exhibited internationally at De Appel in Amsterdam, the Jakarta Biennale (2024), the Palestinian Museum (2021), the Museum of Contemporary Art in Ljubljana and The Mosaic Rooms in London (2024). His films have been screened at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris (2024), the Arab Film Festival in San Diego (2021), and other festivals and institutes.
