Over the past five decades Dubai has expanded and has matured as a city. Dubai’s ambitions to grow and to flourish remain relentless. The Netherlands has been a partner throughout, and is keen to continue supporting Dubai in its development. Together, we work on creating, developing, redeveloping and setting examples of state of the art architecture. During the session we’re discussing the culmination of projects with a Dutch footprint that have been (Netherlands pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai), that are (Concrete in Alserkal Avenue) and that will be (Wasl Tower, under construction). We’ll be discussing how the various levels of sustainability play a role, with a focus on the integration of design with the use of local materials and circularity.

2022 marks the year of 50 years of bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. To celebrate the cordial ties between our countries, the Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai are organizing a number of events throughout the year.
