Bread is never just bread. It is the malawah my grandmother folded in Yemen. The chapati my father ate in Mombasa. The flatbread passed between strangers on Indian Ocean dhows. It is faith, hospitality, trade and rebellion, baked together at 250 degrees.

Filmmaker and cultural storyteller Nadir Nahdi follows the crumbs across oceans and generations, from ancient hearths to the neighbourhood oven, to ask what we’re really tasting when we break bread.
