Job description

The Senior Marketing Executive is a fixed-term contract position to support the Senior Marketing Manager to deliver marketing plans across Alserkal Initiatives: Alserkal Avenue, Alserkal Arts Foundation and Alserkal Advisory, as well as for key events. This role is responsible for ensuring that marketing plans are executed on time and on budget, alongside coordination between internal and external stakeholders. This position will support the always-on marketing function for the business units, including the coordination of digital marketing initiatives and press and PR support. This role will be the main point person for ensuring that content is shared on relevant channels in an effective and timely manner, and that the marketing campaigns set by the Senior Marketing Manager are implemented accordingly. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task within a high-stress environment are crucial components of this position. The Senior Marketing Executive will work closely with the rest of the marketing team on the process from start to finish, ensuring that content on channels is engaging to audiences, on-brand and relevant.

This full-time position reports directly to the Senior Marketing Manager, and is for a fixed 6-month term.

Responsibilities include:

Marketing

  • Day-to-day coordination with social media agency on Alserkal Initiatives and Alserkal Avenue channels
  • Work with social media agency and internal team to ensure posts are on-brand and on-message, uploaded on time and with minimal errors
  • Implement marketing and communications activities for: November Art Week, Quoz Arts Fest, March Art Week and Ramadan at Alserkal Avenue
  • Implement marketing and communications activities for Alserkal Advisory projects, and Alserkal Arts Foundation commissions, exhibitions and programmes
  • Liaise with various teams within the organisation to gather content for social media, and ensure the content supplied is accurate and on-brand
  • Ensure digital marketing plans set by the Senior Marketing Manager are executed in a timely manner
  • Monitor paid digital advertising campaigns, including paid social media and Google Ads, content, creating reports and sharing learnings
  • Liaison with freelancers, community members, partners and agencies as required

PR & Communications

  • Coordination with PR agency, supporting the Senior Marketing Manager
  • Fielding any press enquiries and liaison with PR agency, building and updating the press database, ensuring this is accurate
  • Coordination support for international press trips in November, January and March, including but not limited to creation of schedules for press visits, flights and local transportation, dining, and liaison with members of press on a press trip
  • Press tours of the Avenue as required for visiting press
  • Creating press packs for key events at Alserkal Avenue and projects by Alserkal Arts Foundation and Alserkal Advisory

Knowledge & Education

  • Educated to a Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent and holding relevant professional qualifications in Marketing/Communications/Public Relations/Business Management or similar
  • Experience working within arts and culture would be an added benefit
  • 7+ years’ experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Experience in digital marketing, and social media
  • Experience with PR and media
  • English fluency, Arabic a strong plus

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Sunday through Thursday, from 10am to 6pm, with Saturdays and/or overtime required during busy times or leading up to projects.
