Artists in residence Dorota Gawęda and Eglė Kulbokaitė presented a performative lecture titled Vaporized, dispersed, made particulate that renders landscape as a primary site of speculation on both the natural and the constructed and tries to re-introduce folkloric narratives into our technological present. The talk encompassed the artists’ past and current research interspersed with text, image and video material from their recent body of work Mouthless (2020 - ) as well as work-in-progress conceptualised while in residence at Alserkal Arts Foundation. Gawęda and Kulbokaitė also spoke of their ongoing work on fragrance, and underlying molecular entanglements between the subject and their surroundings.
