Untamed Pages III: The Rehearsal
Playwriting workshop with Rebecca Crookshank
Alserkal Arts Foundation
Please silence your phones; the stage is set for rehearsal.
How do we infuse the essence of ‘play’ into playwriting?
Writers, artists and performers are invited to join playwright, screenwriter, and visual artist Rebecca Crookshank as she guides us through the dynamic world of the rehearsal room. This marks the third instalment of the Untamed Pages series where we continue our exploration of the craft of playwriting rooted in the celebration of kinship and mythologies from our everyday lives.
Beginning with a series of theatre games and playful improv, the workshop invites us to untame the rituals of stagecraft and trace the dramatic arc sparked during the rehearsal as it carries through to live performance. Throughout the workshop you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in your creative process, encouraging exploration and growth.
Note: We kindly request that you arrive on time to ensure a smooth experience for you and your peers. Please dress comfortably and bring an item of clothing, costume or accessory that resonates with your performance persona.
Date: Saturday, 15 June 2024
