Come for the premiere of the film The Pit by award-winning Latvian director Dace Pūce and producer Kristele Pudane. After the screening both filmmakers will participate in Q&A session to talk about the film as well as share their experience as women in international film industry. The talk will be moderated by Sara Khalfan Al Mheiri

The Pit, a story of a boy adapting to his new life in the countryside after the death of his father, is the director’s debut film that is now Latvia’s official submission for 94th Academy Awards. It has received numerous international film festival awards and nominations in USA, Russia, Estonia, China, South Korea, Germany, Netherlands, Marrocco and other countries.

About the speakers:

Director Dace Pūce has studied film directing at Birghton Film School (UK) and New York Film Academy (USA).

Producer Kristele Pudane has been working on several international film projects with such actors as Kenneth Branagh, Rashida Jones, Rutger Hauer, Simon Abkarian and many others.
