This powerful short animated film spotlights how climate change is shattering the hopes and dreams of women around the world and features over 400 pieces of artwork from refugee, marginalised and migrant women highlighting climate injustice. Participating countries: Kenya, Nigeria, Malawi, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cameroon , Greece, Jordan, South Africa,Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, UK, Zambia.

Women in camps, orphanages and other temporary accommodation in over 15 countries globally participated in workshops in 2021 to produce the artwork for the film. The project was aimed at helping the women learn about climate change, encouraging action, and providing the tools for sustainable care for their mental and emotional well-being.

The 25-minute art film also pays tribute to leading climate activists Greta Thunberg, Vanessa Nakate and takes note of the Climate Education emergency highlighted by the Malala Fund.

About the Director:

Salma Zulfiqar, director of The Migration Blanket. Salma is an Artist and Human Rights Activist focused on empowering refugee and migrant women. Salma is also the Founder and Director of ARTconnects social enterprise delivering creative learning on human rights. The award-winning Artist has worked all over the world raising awareness of humanitarian issues in countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Syria, Egypt, Somalia, Chad and Kenya. She is currently exhibiting in Venice and is winner of the UK Government's prestigious Points of Light Award.
