The Art of Fresco: History, Technique, and Contemporary

A three-day deep dive into traditional and conceptual fresco techniques.

Rooted in centuries of tradition and full of contemporary potential, fresco painting is both an art and a science. In this three-part exploratory workshop, participants will immerse themselves in the historical and material processes of the fresco technique, while pushing its boundaries into new creative territory.

From layering lime and sand to preparing natural pigments, students will experience fresco as a physical, chemical, and poetic phenomenon. Alongside technical sessions, guided writing exercises will help participants explore the emotional and sensory qualities of the medium.
