Aligned with ‘alternative ways of being’ and mindfulness, Slow Art Walks invite visitors to take the time to slow down and reflect, not to rush to unpack or understand. For three nights this Ramadan, we will be joined by critical voices from the arts—both emerging and established—to welcome you to spend an evening with artworks in the Avenue.

Mariam AbdelAziz is an Egyptian architect and designer raised in the United Arab Emirates. She graduated from the American University of Sharjah in 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture Design. Since then, she has completed several residential and commercial projects and has participated in several competitions. In 2019, Mariam worked with the Sharjah Architecture Triennial team for their inaugural edition, working on the realm of exhibition design.

Prior to joining university, Mariam experimented with a range of media in art, and then honed her skills whilst completing her degree. Through experimentation and research, Mariam developed a passion for art, architectural history and theory. She is currently handling production and installation of public art commissions and exhibitions in Alserkal Avenue as part of the Alserkal Arts Foundation team.
