Aligned with ‘alternative ways of being’ and mindfulness, Slow Art Walks invite visitors to take the time to slow down and reflect, not to rush to unpack or understand. For three nights this Ramadan, we will be joined by critical voices from the arts—both emerging and established—to welcome you to spend an evening with artworks in the Avenue.

Alexis Javero is a Filipino artist based in the UAE. Her practice revolves around the relationship between the word and its symbolic representation -- between signifier and signified. While she investigates themes of identity and belonging, she contemplates larger questions that surround the intricacies of the human condition, and in turn explores language as a tool to dissect concepts that are concrete and abstract.
