About Behnoush Feiz

The idea of our identity and the conscious self is the subject matter of my work. The objective is to explore the hidden notions about us and our connection to ourselves. At the beginning of 2017, my curiosity grew for the circle, Rumi’s poetry, ancient wisdom and philosophy. The circle is an ancient metaphysical absolute, and the only geometrical shape with no beginning, no end, and no direction. I was intrigued by the profound holistic meaning of the circle and started to study it further. As I proceeded to investigate more in circle, I felt that there is such a vast canvas for circles to show up in our lives, depending on where we are in our cycle of growth and that the meaning of shapes and symbols meet us where we are ready to listen and learn.Rumi’s poetry guided me through the ancient wisdom and transformed my creative journey. My artistic style transformed from figurative painting to geometric abstraction. Oil and canvas were replaced in charcoal, ink, and pastel.
