Sawsan Al Bahar | Art into the Night

As an extension of the solo exhibition by Sawsan Al Bahar at Maraya Art Centre, Firetti Contemporary will be exhibiting her works for Alserkal September Lates.

The event will take place on the 28th of September from 11 am to 10 pm.
Join us as we celebrate Al Bahar's accomplishments and journey through a selection of her works where she explores the discreet ways in which history influences personal narratives in the region. She investigates her own history and searches for the myth of home within works of graphite on paper, digital scans, and text. Her work is based on intense draftsmanship, and she employs digital scanning to access and depict an absent homeland. Her meticulous drawings are poetic entanglements, situated at the crossroads of the past and future, evoking an intimate historical image and highlighting the tension between the real and the fabricated for the viewer."
