Post-Processing: Capturing Prompts

This three-hour workshop bridges poetry and photography, offering an interdisciplinary experience where the rhythmic language of poetry meets the frozen moments of photography.

In the first half, participants will explore the foundations of spoken word poetry—its structure, creative process, and defining elements. The second half features guided writing exercises inspired by Editions from Gulf Photo Plus, showcasing photographs by SWANA artists. These images will serve as prompts to delve into themes of romance, grief, and peace.

By engaging with both visual and literary forms, participants will gain a deeper understanding of poetic expression and the art of blending words with imagery. The workshop concludes with the creation of an accordion zine, allowing each attendee to transform their writing into a personal, tangible artifact to take home.
