Sumaya Dabbagh's Mosque of Light Tour embraces the spirit of slow walks, taking us through the din of Al Quoz's industrial landscape, into the sublime refuge of her exquisitely designed contemporary mosque – a journey from the outer material world into the inner realms of peace and calm.

As one of the first mosques in the UAE to be designed by a female architect, Dabbagh's contemporary design aesthetic gives the mosque a sense of calm and an intimate connection with mystery and silence amidst the creative neighbourhood of Al Quoz.

With sustainability at the heart of the design, the mosque is constructed with a variety of locally-sourced materials, including stones from Oman, aluminium, concrete, joinery and ceramics from the UAE.

Note for participants: As a respect to the sacred place of worship, you are requested to dress modestly in accordance with the Islamic cultural and traditional value.
