Manchaha rugs exhibition: inspired by food and culinary elements
Part of What The Food
The Manchaha Project is an initiative started by Jaipur Rugs to meet the problem of industry-wide wastage of yarn. The project encourages all weavers to express themselves freely on the loom without any pre-set designs given to them. The designs are woven with left-over yarn batches to reduce wastage while also allowing an artisan to tread the journey to become an artist. The result of this sustainable project is one-of-a-kind rugs that are a medley of hues and patterns woven through an artisan’s emotions and a peek into their daily lives.
These rugs are not only unique in design but are also considered art pieces that have won not only recognition globally but some prestigious awards too. Sustainable Manufacturing Reusing and Revival from waste yarn. Solar Plant for electricity for our units. Our looms at the weaver doorstep are hand-fitted and significantly save water and carbon footprints in our rugs. Raw colours are GOTS-certified and eco-friendly. Sustainable Craft Nurturing Creative potential unexplored on the global stage.
One-of-a-kind rugs represent the unique individuality of the artisan. Artist collaboration, for expanding usage of rugs as wall art and unique artistry. Usage of Handspun wool, to create unique textures and employment at the same time. By Promoting rehabilitation, inclusivity, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing, we contribute to a more just and sustainable society, where individuals are empowered and the environment is respected.
