Little Alserkal Explorers : Creative Trails for Curious Minds
By EY Lucy Jung
The Yard
Little Alserkal Explorers is an engaging, hands-on programme that invites children aged 5–11 to discover the creative spirit of Alserkal Avenue through guided exploration, thoughtful observation, and meaningful interaction with art, culture, and community.
This season, the programme unfolds across three themed trails, each offering a unique learning experience designed to spark curiosity, encourage creative thinking, and deepen children’s connection to contemporary art and culture. Taking place across galleries, creative studios, and community spaces, the programme introduces children to the people, ideas, and stories that make Alserkal Avenue a vibrant hub for creativity and collaboration.
Each week focuses in depth on one trail, while gently exploring the themes of the others, creating a rich and interconnected learning journey. In Contemporary Art Explorer, children learn how artists turn everyday life into powerful stories and then step into the roles of artist, curator, and collector by creating their own artworks, curating exhibitions, and using Alserkal Coins to “collect” their favorites. In Innovation Investigator, they explore how art, design, and technology intersect, engaging with experimental works that spark imagination and show how creative thinking leads to bold new ideas. Finally, Community Connector highlights how art builds connection — as children explore public spaces, collaborate on group projects, and discover how creativity brings people and places together.
Each trail is thoughtfully designed to nurture curiosity, confidence, and creativity. Whether experienced across three weeks or as individual sessions, Little Alserkal Explorers provides children with a dynamic, age-appropriate introduction to contemporary art, cultural dialogue, and the power of imagination. Set within the inspiring spaces of Alserkal Avenue, this program opens doors for young minds to explore, express, and connect — fostering curiosity and a lasting connection to art and culture.
