The Tashkeel Makerspace
Discover the beauty of printmaking through the timeless technique of etching in this two-part workshop series. Over two engaging 3-hour sessions, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of intaglio printmaking—from designing and preparing a plate to inking and pulling finished prints.
In the first session, participants will sketch their ideas, transfer their designs onto metal plates, and explore the tools and techniques used to etch lines and textures into the surface.
In the second session, they will learn the inking and wiping process, experiment with printing on fine art paper, and produce multiple prints of their original artwork using a press.
This series is perfect for artists, illustrators, or curious beginners who want to explore a detailed, expressive medium. All materials are provided, and no prior experience is needed. Each participant will leave with their own set of hand-pulled prints and a deeper understanding of traditional etching.
