A poetry reading and open invitation, featuring two established poets Namal Siddiqui and Jennah Fakhouri performing original pieces and sharing other poetry that have resonated with them as an artist.

As a sequel to the first poetry event on 4 April Found in Translation, A Gathering of Words is a poetry performance and a celebration of language hosted by Danabelle Gutierrez and featuring two established poets Namal Siddiqui and Jennah Fakhouri performing original pieces and sharing other poetry that have resonated with them as an artist. This event is also an open invitation for the audience to come, share, and read a poem in your native language.

After a ten-year career in corporate marketing/advertising, Namal Siddiqui took a long sabbatical dedicated to mountaineering and an MA in Creative Writing. She is currently working at the Emirates Literary Foundation while also working on a non-fiction and poetry book.

Jennah Fakhouri is an avid writer, an award-winning poet and a wandering spirit who seeks new experiences and destinations to tame her insatiable wanderlust. She aims to use her voice to provide divergent perspectives on global issues and personal journeys, particularly with issues related to refugees due to her own Palestinian American heritage. Her poetry often draws on her time as a volunteer in Morocco, Egypt and the West Bank and on her own struggle to reconcile her fragmented identity into a cohesive destination called Home.
