Floe: QAF X Dream City
Main Lane
Floe by Jean-Baptiste André, bringing together a visual installation designed by Vincent Lamouroux that sets as a stage for a choreographed performance.
The Floe project stemmed from the meeting between Jean-Baptiste André, a circus artist,
and Vincent Lamouroux, a visual artist. Together, they designed a work that can be presented
outside, as much a visual installation as a scenography for a choreographed work.
Floe is a nomadic project that goes to meet a landscape and its audience.
The visual work.
The visual work consists of 5 white cubes of different shapes and sizes. Together they form a composite whole
of volumes arranged next to each other, putting their specific orientations and inclines in perspective.
Designed as a variable-geometry structure, it can be seen from a number of different angles. There are as
many perspectives and vanishing lines as there are viewpoints.
The structure boasts large dimensions, higher than a man, in order to serve the dramatic
statement of a journey pushing the body to its limits.
The design and manufacture of the structure ensures that is easy to disassemble and transport, thereby faci-
litating its mobility and adaptability in a range of venues.
