Deep Earth Object

Alserkal Arts Foundation

An intervention in the Yard, this work consists of an uncanny spherical sculpture that appears to have emerged from the earth. Developed from the artist’s research into UFO sightings in Dubai as well as materials and metals used in Al Quoz and the scrap industry in the UAE, the work addresses various questions related to forging histories, utopias and the lurking entropy of our chemical existence.
