Bright Memories by Abdulla Alneyadi

Bright Memories is an installation that reflects Abdulla Alneyadi’s fond memories of the UAE, particularly the water dispensers that were often placed around the neighbourhood as acts of charity. The installation invites interaction, symbolizing the simple yet iconic dispensers that provide free water to passersby—schoolchildren, workers, and delivery drivers. For many, these dispensers hold sentimental value, evoking nostalgia, while introducing others to a cherished cultural tradition.

About the Artist

Abdulla Alneyadi is a Dubai-based artist and filmmaker. In 2019, he won first prize in sculpture at the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Award. He is a participant in the Salama Bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship (SEAF cohort 7), in collaboration with the Rhode Island School of Design, and was also part of the Arab Film Studio Narrative program.
