Between a Beach and Slope: A Conversation in Verse and Art offers a unique opportunity to delve into the intersection of poetry and visual art through the newly commissioned public artworks by Nujoom Alghanem and Shilpa Gupta, previewing during Alserkal Art Week at the Avenue.

The talk features live readings of Nujoom Alghanem’s poem Between a Beach and Slope, which inspired the theme for this year, as well as poetry readings by artist Shilpa Gupta, and curator Fatoş Üstek.

This intimate dialogue invites reflection on the exhibition’s deeper meanings, with the artists and curator sharing insights into their practices and the language, art, and the cultural narratives that inform them.
