Tree School activation during the collection drive for Gaza
Over the last few days and nights, we have each sat with friends and family, or alone online, grappling with incommensurate violence and incomprehensible losses. It feels essential to gather and be in solidarity and alliance with our Palestinian family, friends and colleagues.
So we offer our space to our own, extending hospitality and the capacity to listen. In the spirit of our collaborations with Sandi Hilal and Alessandro Petti at DAAR, we are reactivating the Tree School, where we can gather for informal discussions over the weekend, from 4-7 pm on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 at the Common Room, Alserkal Arts Foundation. The Tree School is a gathering place for groups and individuals interested in learning from each other and in sharing common urgencies based on lived experiences.
There will be readings, there will be talks, there will be songs and poems and food and collective activities. Do bring anything that you would like to share. Please reach out to us if you’d like to contribute in any way. We’ll share a more detailed schedule as it comes together, but this will be a drop-in gathering and we'll add more as we are able.
The Tarahum for Gaza collection drive will continue until October 30 at Warehouse A1. Learn more about how you can contribute.
