A Corridor of Books by Lamya Gargash
Commissioned by Maraya Art Centre, Sharjah & courtesy of The Third Line
Alserkal Avenue
A Corridor of Books is a large-scale commissioned work on the corner facade of Alserkal Avenue, by Emirati artist Lamya Gargash. For this project, Gargash turns her focus to the Al Ain home of HE Dr. Zaki Nusseibeh, a prominent collector and patron of the arts. At the heart of the photograph is a golden fabric draped through his library, guided by the Qibla—a compass pointing towards prayer. The installation invites a meditation on memory, devotion, and the stories woven into the spaces we inhabit.
