About Alserkal
Alserkal is a socially responsible and forward-thinking arts and culture enterprise rooted in Dubai and active globally, shaping contemporary culture and contributing to the creative economy across the MENASA region. Founded in 2007 by Emirati businessman and patron Abdelmonem Bin Eisa Alserkal, the organisation began with the transformation of a former industrial site into Alserkal Avenue, now one of the region’s most vibrant cultural districts, home to more than 100 creative organisations and welcoming over two million visitors each year.
Alserkal’s work is anchored in three pillars: the Arts Foundation, the Advisory strategic consultancy and its Cultural Districts, of which the Avenue, which bring together artistic experimentation, cultural strategy, and place-making to support artists, entrepreneurs and institutions.
Alserkal plays an active role in shaping Dubai’s cultural landscape. The organisation has delivered more than 5,000 public programmes, collaborated with over 500 institutions worldwide and expanded the city’s cultural infrastructure through sustained investment in creative spaces, cultural initiatives and public art. Through the Arts Foundation, Alserkal supports artists, researchers and curators through grants, commissions and residencies. The Advisory, established in 2021, extends this work through cultural planning and strategy projects with regional and international partners.
