Job description

The Marketing Executive is a key role within the Alserkal marketing team and is responsible for the execution of digital marketing initiatives, including the website, social media, SEO and PPC, newsletter, content creation, and press liaison. The Marketing Executive will be the point person for ensuring that content is created and shared on relevant channels in an effective and timely manner, and that the marketing campaigns set by the Marketing Manager are implemented accordingly. Strong attention to detail, an analytical focus and an ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels are essential components to this role. The Marketing Executive will work closely with the rest of the marketing team on initiative from start to finish, ensuring that content on channels is engaging to target audiences, on-brand and relevant.

This full-time position reports directly to the Marketing Manager and the Communications Director as required.

Responsibilities include:

Digital Marketing

  • Work closely with social media agency to ensure campaigns and posts are on-brand and on-message, delivered on time with minimal errors, and growing following and engagement
  • Ensure digital assets are continually updated with relevant content (this may include articles, listicles, videos, image stories, podcasts and events from Alserkal and community members etc), with content added in a timely manner
  • Monitor paid digital advertising campaigns, including paid social media and Google Ads, content, creating reports and sharing key learnings and insights.
  • Regular monitoring of review sites, Google Business and other touchpoints
  • Create and send regular newsletters via Pardot and/or Mailchimp
  • Create landing pages on Pardot and/or Mailchimp as required
  • Liaison with freelancers, community members, partners and agencies as required for content production, and uploading content on

PR & Communications

  • Fielding any press enquiries, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure responses are drafted on brand and then approved and shared in a timely manner
  • Engage in press and media relations for Alserkal locally, regionally and internationally, building the database and looking to further build the reputation of Alserkal and its spokespeople
  • Liaise with retained PR agencies on coordination activities
  • Build and update the press database, ensuring this is accurate
  • Generate ideas for senior stakeholders in the business, including Founder and Executive Director, to stay top of mind with press, locally, regionally and internationally
  • Write and edit press releases, media alerts, and stakeholder responses as required, working with Marketing Manager and Communications Director
  • Create, generate and share monthly PR reports and analysis with the marketing team and stakeholders
  • Management of all aspects of press trips, including but not limited to creation of schedules for press visits, transportation, dining, and liaison with members of press on a press trip
  • Press tours of the Avenue as required
  • Internal communications activities for the Alserkal team, informing them about marketing campaigns and initiatives in a timely manner
  • Community communications for Alserkal Avenue community members, gathering content, liaising on press and social media, and working with the community relations team to inform them about news, marketing campaigns and initiatives and garner their support

Content Creation, Editing and Copywriting

  • Copywriting and copyediting for campaigns across the business, including slogans, captions, and content for newsletters, marketing plans and social media plans on deadline, both online and offline, whether ‘always on’ or event- based
  • Copywriting and copyediting on-brand and relevant text for the public realm, including signage and flyers as required, meeting set deadlines
  • Creating and editing copy for event programmes and flyers as required and to set deadlines
  • Copywriting and copyediting internal communications as needed, including handbooks, and presentations as required
  • Reviewing and copyediting newsletters and invitations as required
  • Proofreading and editing other content as required


  • Review Google Analytics on a weekly basis and evaluate how content is performing, providing weekly and monthly reports and insights on digital content
  • Prepare and circulate content marketing reports, including content created, performance and website Google Analytics results, to stakeholders on a weekly and monthly basis as required
  • Monitor Meltwater and create monthly PR reports, which includes articles, press features, interviews and measuring AVE, reporting against set KPI’s
  • Review Google Ads and create monthly reports
  • Liaise with social media agency for monthly digital campaign reports, sharing key learnings with team
  • Liaise with SEO agency for campaign SEO/PPC reports, sharing key learnings with team

Knowledge & Education

  • 2-5 years’ Marketing and Communication experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Experience in digital marketing, websites/CMS and social media
  • Experience with PR and media
  • Educated to a Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent and holding relevant professional qualifications in Marketing/Communications/Public Relations/Business Management or similar
  • English fluency, Arabic a plus

  • Well-informed about the art, design, and culture world

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Sunday through Thursday, from 10am to 6pm, with Saturdays and/or overtime required during high season times or leading up to projects.
