A conversation between Munira Al Sayegh, Afra Al Dhaheri, and Mohamed Khalid

19 December, 7PM

Level 1, ICD Brookfield Place

Mapping is a symbolic depiction associating elements to space. But what happens when the relation between the elements and the space is not static? What happens when the dynamic is interactive and ever-changing? How can we locate the present through a diluted decoding of the surroundings, or of one’s own self?

A conversation between Munira Al Sayegh, Afra Al Dhaheri, and Mohamed Khalid will dive deeper into the cartographical theme of exploring the artists’ practices. Detangling the threads of Afra Al Dhaheri’s works and Mohamed Khalid’s response to the lands of the space, and closely inspecting the current perception of the map proposed through the exhibition Hair Mapping Body; Body Mapping Land.
