Where does mediation stop and madness begin?
Starts 12:00 PM
Ends 4:00 PM
Venue Alserkal Arts Foundation
In this deep-dive into exhaustive practices—losing (or finding) oneself in the repetition of labour—artist Nahla al-Tabbaa examines meditative intensity. In a state of isolation, with a few props at hand, participants produce (drawing, carving, writing) in silence over four hours. Working in tandem with variables within our control, and others outside it, expect to explore the spot where meditation stops and madness begins…
Participation is limited to 10 people. Kindly email us at firstname.lastname@example.org stating your interest in the workshop.
Participants will be randomly selected and notified by email. Please bear in mind that this is a 4-hour workshop (about exhaustion!). By registering you commit to attending the entire workshop.
Nahla al-Tabbaa is an artist, pedagogue and culinary ethnographer. Interested in urban research, materiality, and alchemy, she works within these realms to create social impact.
